Programs & Requirements
All courses are opened to licensed, certified, professional massage therapists, and anyone interested.
Thai Massage Certificate | 56 hrs.
All students wishing to earn a ‘Thai Massage Certificate’ must take Thai Massage Part 1 and then combine that with their choice of one or more courses: Thai Massage Part 2, 3 or 4.
- Thai Massage Part 1: Foundation of Thai Massage | 16 hrs
With choices of:
- Thai Massage Part 2: Thai Relaxation Massage | 40 hrs
- Thai Massage Part 3: Therapeutic Thai Massage | 40 hrs
- Thai Massage Part 4: Thai Yoga Massage | 40 hrs
General Requirements:
- Have compassionate intention to do good and help others
- Serious interest in learning Thai massage
- Ability to not speak for at least six hours a day while massaging the client
- Be able to engage in physical work with your hands and knees for extended periods of time
- Have healthy joints and be able to sit on your knees and legs for an extended period of time
- Be able to give massage on the floor or on a platform
- Be able to massage a client for up to two hours at a time
- Strong body
- Practice hard in class and keep practicing outside of class time
- Listen to your client’s needs and be attentive
- Understand client’s health and his or her abilities and health concerns
- Maintain a positive energy level with clients and support them in their goals
Disability concerns:
Practicing Thai massage requires flexibility in your limbs and joints as well as overall good health. If you have a physical disability that may impede fulfilling the ‘General Requirements’, these classes may not be suited to you.
