About Thai Healing Massage
The Thai healing massage course prepares you to specialize in a technique that promotes outcomes that are designed to heal the body.
This method uses a Thai technique that has been practiced for hundreds of years by applying acupressure to specific points on the body.
For centuries now, many Thai people have been choosing to receive massage to treat their minor aches and pains. When their illness or pains are more serious they may turn to modern medicine and treatments when massage is not the appropriate therapy.
Course Description:
Students will learn about minor misalignments, their causes and symptoms and how Thai massage can help treat and correct these issues. Students will learn and practice interviewing, doing an assessment, evaluating the conditions, locating pressure point(s), applying pressure from and to the point(s) on the body. Additional learning will be done to understand timing and duration spent on each point, applying different levels of pressure, application of herbal balm, heat, and cold therapies, effective stretching techniques, therapeutic exercising, recommending the frequency clients should receive treatment, and when to refer the client to medical doctor or specialists.
The instructor will demonstrate the technique and students will be paired up with their partners to practice on each other under supervision of the instructor.
Issues that will be covered in the Thai healing massage course includes stress and anxiety, tension headache, migraine headache, TMJ, temporal pain, arthritis, tendonitis, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, neck pain, stiff neck and shoulders, stiff knees, strain, sprains, bruises, frozen shoulder, restless arm, heavy arm and leg, tennis elbow, numbness in the hand, stiff Achilles tendon, and plantar fasciitis.
