This 7 hours training is the first (1 of 6) course in the 70 hours Professional Therapeutic Thai Massage Course. Participants will learn brief history of Thailand, background, and development of Thai massage. They will additionally learn about the Sen Pratan Sib and the four elements theory, which are principles of Thai massage. The class will also include learning about:
• Types of Thai massage
• Application of Thai massage: hand, sitting and standing positions; good pressure, body mechanic
• Cautionary sites
• Basic anatomy & physiology in relation to Thai massage
• Rhythm and movement
• Essential techniques
• Therapist’s manner
• Therapist’s oath and ethics
• Thai massage in Thailand
• Thai massage materials
• Tips for success
• Introduction to the practice of other Thai therapies: Yoo-Fai, Yam-Kang, Tok-Sen, walking on client’s body, hot herbal compress, herbal balm, and heating pad
• Wai Kru, and life of Dr.Shivaga Komarpaj (the father doctor of Thai traditional medicine)
• Observing Thai cultural protocols,
• Application of essential culture.
